Trugs and Teacups

I was reading my favorite blogs the other day and saw that my blog friend Helen Philipps had found a wooden trug and was using it to gather flowers in her beautiful picket fenced cottage garden.  I have a Myrtlewood picnic basket and I had eyed a trug made by the same company.  I thought it would be very useful for picking up eggs and cutting flowers so I found their website and bought one.

Myrtlewood is beloved in Oregon.. I've always heard it's only to be found in this state but I googled it and it also grows in Northern California.  I love the grain in the wood.

They use copper tacks to put them together.  These are made by Barbur's Baskets.  I ordered their baskets for the Vista House when I was the Executive Director there and was the buyer for the museum shop.

I attended the Portland Women's Forum meeting yesterday and picked up my fellow members Bev and Diane on the way.  After the meeting when dropping Diane off at her home, she invited us inside to see her teacup collection.  She has collected a lot of antique display furniture to show off her cups and teapots. 🍵

It's like a museum!!  And Diane is an expert on her collections, too.

She also has many more cups in the pretty boxes.

It was fun to see her collection.  Do you know a teacup collector?

Diane even sold me a few plates she didn't want.  I now have four Royal Albert "Old Country Roses" plates.  :-)

I'm off to swim soon and then afterwards I'm picking up our order of groceries.  We've started using the internet to order them and then we reserve a pick up time.  So handy!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
