Back when I was looking at the French TV website for videos of the Lebanese War in 1982 I came across a video of a French TV reporter interviewing Israeli troops along a roadside. In addition to the M113's in the background there were quite a few trucks of a model I didn't recognize. I turns out that in the 1970's Israel developed their own truck to replace the Dodge trucks they had been using. It is called the M325 or "Nun Nun". There are several variants, a command version, a cargo version, and a patrol version.
I didn't think anyone made one, but I was wrong. QRF has their Arab/Israeli's divided into "Post-War" and "Modern." This has confunded me before, when I thought no one made an M60 with the "urdan" cupola. It's on the "Post-War" section. This is also the case with the M325 Cargo and the M325 DPV (desert patrol version) which are listed as Post-War, but not Modern. You really can't beat QRF for their 15mm selection, but this is just darn confusing.
Anyway, here is the cargo version. It's a nice little model to add a unique look to a column of Israeli or Lebanese Army units. Israel gave quite a few of these to the South Lebanon Army and various friendly Militias. I also have the DPV version, but I need some riders for it, so it's not painted yet.
I've also painted up some support teams.
A Dragon ATGM team. The Dragon gunner is from Command Decision and has a Fritz Helmet, but it's really not that noticeable at this scale or angle. The other two figures are from Peter Pig.
A mortar team from Quality Casting. They scale well with Peter Pig. Perhaps they might be used to fire Star-shells for a night time scenario.
Some Israeli dead counters. These are easy to paint, because any mistakes can be covered in blood. They add a morbid dimension to any game. I already had 8, but the pessimist in me knew I might need some more.
